I am Alexis Pineiro, the CEO of The Golden Owls. My journey spans continents and industries. Born in Los Angeles and raised in Yucatán, Mexico, I developed a strong work ethic and adaptability from my bicultural upbringing. After returning to the U.S., I pursued leadership roles in the grocery industry, driven by a commitment to excel.

In 2014, I joined Globe Life, attracted by its financial potential. The relationships I built within American Income Life (AiL) fueled my success, and through dedication, I rose to every leadership position. My journey exemplifies the power of perseverance and professional connections.

As the leader of The Golden Owls, I now head a dynamic team providing insurance solutions to working-class families. Under my leadership, The Golden Owls have become a beacon of growth and opportunity, reflecting my commitment to success and making the organization respected and sought after by clients and aspiring professionals alike.

Born in Los Angeles and raised in Torrance, CA, my journey has been shaped by the values instilled in me by my immigrant parents—hard work, perseverance, and a relentless drive for excellence. My academic path began at El Camino Community College, where I earned my Associates degree, and continued at Cal State East Bay, where I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry.

Initially, I pursued a career in the science field but soon realized that it wasn’t the right fit for me. Seeking a role that offered both financial rewards and the opportunity to leverage my people skills, I joined Globe Life, American Income Division. What started as a career move quickly evolved into a passion, as I found a fulfilling position that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.

Ten years later, I am honored to be a co-founder of The Golden Owls team, a testament to our collective commitment to excellence and growth. Every day, I strive to lead by example, inspire my team, and continuously improve in the pursuit of our mission—to provide unparalleled support and security to the families we serve.

My name is David Asbra and I am a Managing Partner with Cohen Velasquez agency. I have been here going on 4 years now with the agency. My past work experience did not pertain to life insurance. In fact I was working in politics doing campaigns and working in the district office for several state and county elected officials. Even though I had never thought to join the insurance industry, I could not imagine doing any other job or working for any other agency. This job has afforded me the ability to use my love of connecting with people and helping out my community and has turned that into a career. I have the freedom to work when I want and to be a true entrepreneur. Not only do I get to protect families daily, I also get to work within an environment of people that push each other to be better and strive for greater. Every one truly cares about each other’s success and fosters an environment of collaboration. Plus the best part of the job is the free vacations and trips I have experienced. I have been to the Bahamas, Cancun, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and more paid for by our agency. There truly is no other job that I have felt this happy working for.
